Safety & Support
Safety, security and overall wellness of students are our highest priority. The staff at the EESA Kharkiv office follows strict security guidelines and is available on call for any health or safety emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The EESA office in Kharkiv receives updates from the U.S. embassy in Ukraine regarding U.S. citizen safety. The staff stays in close contact with local police department and other authorities for quick notification and response to any emergencies. The center has detailed plans for evacuating students should the need arise.
All students who participate in the EESA-Ukraine program are provided with medical emergency and accidental insurance, which is included in the program fee. All students will have access to a 24/7 traveler’s medical emergency response line. Our friendly and professional staff is trained to help with any questions regarding living arrangements, cultural adjustment, academics, personal issues or any other concerns that students may have. The EESA on-site staff consists of both American and Ukrainian citizens who are very familiar with local culture, institutions, infrastructure and the way of life. EESA strongly believes in the importance of extensive support network for students while abroad and ensures that students feel at home while studying in Ukraine.
